Lynn Heintzman joined Brown International Academy, an elementary school in Denver, CO, as principal in 2012. She previously held the position of chief academic officer for Adams County School District in Colorado where she oversaw the district’s instructional strategies, including all teacher training and supports, curriculum alignment and state standards, and the use of data to measure student progress and inform instruction. Prior to that, she was principal at Alsup Elementary School, an assistant principal at Adams City Middle School, and an English teacher.
Throughout her 27-year career in education, she has received numerous accolades, including Principal of the Year, District Teacher of the Year, High Flyin’ School of the year and the Colorado Department of Education’s Beat the Odds School. She received her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and her master’s degree in education from Adams State College.
