George G. Bear

George Bear, PhD (University of Virginia), is a professor emeritus at the University of Delaware. Prior to being a faculty member in the University’s school psychology program for 38 years, he was a school psychologist in Ames, Iowa and a school administrator and school psychologist in Bath County, VA. He has written or edited 12 books and over 100 journal articles and book chapters focusing primarily on school discipline, school climate, and children’s moral development and behavior.

His most recent book is Lying, Cheating, Bullying, and Narcissism: The Development of Self-Discipline and the Influence of Trumpism, published in 2024 by Routledge Publishing. He served in various leadership roles in the National Association of School Psychologists and is a recipient of their Lifetime Achievement Award.
